Students study Spanish at Genesis Preparatory School to fulfill the World Languages curriculum requirement. Through language study, students acquire communication skills and explore the Spanish language within a cultural context. The program creates opportunities for students to experience and acknowledge different patterns of thought and value systems. Through the interdisciplinary approach of GPS’s Spanish program, students better understand their own language and culture while developing a sense of responsibility and commitment as world citizens.

GPS Spanish students take part in SPIFFS (St. Petersburg International Folk Fair Society), themed cultural convocations, and domestic and international travel. Students are also inducted into the Spanish National Honor Society yearly. This academic organization is dedicated to the promotion of the study of the Spanish language and the culture of Hispanic countries.
